
Police are appealing for witnesses after two expensive oil paintings were stolen from a house in the village of Wymondham, in Melton Mowbray.
The incident happened sometime between 7.15pm on Thursday August 5 and 12.15am on Friday August 6, when the occupants of the house, in Main Straat, returned to find the back door open.
Once inside they found that various rooms had been searched and two valuable paintings had been taken (see pictures).
Officers are appealing for information following a burglary in Oadby.
The burglary happened between 5.30pm and 10pm on Wednesday August 4 at a house on Briar Meads.
A window at the back of the property was forced open and once inside, the burglars made a search of the rooms before stealing a quantity of gold jewellery including necklaces, earrings, rings and bangles. They also stole the victims’ passports.
