Neighbourhood Watch Awards 2008
Supt Nixon announced the winners to receive a framed certificate signed by the Chief Constable for their contribution towards neighbourhood policing and the local community.
The initiatives submitted for consideration for this first Neighbourhood Watch award clearly showed the added value to neighbourhood policing being achieved with the links with Neighbourhood Watch members.
This years award winners are

Mary Elizabeth Parkes - Friar Lane NHW
Pauline Pettitt - North West Leicestershire NHW and Police Volunteers
Alex Ritchie - Markfield NHW
Dr. J K Sugden - Oadby & Wigston police and Neighbourhood Action Group
Sue Watson - North West Leicestershire NHW and Police Volunteers
The following will receive the certificate together with £100.00 each to be used for supporting their neighbourhood watch initiatives

It has been agreed to make this award an annual event and officers and staff are asked to record initiatives of note during the year for recommendation for an award next year.
