Inspector Lindsey Taylor

"I am the new local policing unit commander for the Borough of Oadby and Wigston and I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead. I am very keen to start working closely with my neighbourhood officers, local residents, and members of the Parish and District Council in delivering neighbourhood policing throughout the area.

"Leicestershire Constabulary have always been at the forefront in delivering local policing tailored to neighbourhood needs and I intend to build on that in Oadby and Wigston. This means making sure dedicated neighbourhood officers tackle the things that matter where you live.

"I would encourage you to stop and speak with your local beat officers when you get a chance, they will be more than happy to listen to any concerns you may have about policing in the community."

Wigston local policing unit polices the growing residential communities of Wigston, South Wigston and Oadby.

The area includes a wide range of shops, restaurants, public houses, religious centres, schools and health and leisure facilities. The area also includes some light industry.

On the western boundary, the LPU covers the Glen Parva Young Offenders Centre.
